Lucie Adger Obituary

Lucie Ann Barton Adger

FORT WORTH, TX: Lucie passed away on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016. She was born on July 10th, 1935 in Nocona, Texas to Dan and Marie Barton.

There will be a private memorial service for Lucie in Gainesville, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society.

Lucie took great pride in her heritage of being a 5th generation Texan. Lucie was a wife, mother, grandmother, poet, artist, dancer, filling up any room she entered. Lucie grew up in Coleman and Gainesville. In 1948 she moved to Snyder where she graduated from High School. She attended TCU and Texas Tech before she met and married John H. Adger, Jr. Together they were dance instructors at Arthur Murrays.

They moved to Coshocton, Ohio and opened a gift shop in restored Roscoe Village. Lucie was active with the Footlight Players Theater, as a director, producer, choreographer and actor.

The family returned to Texas in 1981 where she became a Realtor and cancer survivor.

Survivors: Daughters; Gigi Adger-Haynes and husband Eric, Adrion Ramsey and husband James, and Laura Adger-Barton and husband Robby. Grandsons, Jacob, Daniel and Liam; sister Danna and her husband Dr. Robert Russell, and their children Robert, Shannon, Tamera and Shawn, their Aunt Lu, a free spirit. She will be sadly missed by all.

Adrion my love and prayers of comfort and peace to you and your whole family, from myself and my family. You and your mother taught me backgammon my favorite game in life except poker, and you and I shared that! Miss you and pray youvare all well and comforted by the fact that your mother lived life in full open throttle, but never to busy to give a little one on one and make a body feel welcome and happy. You got that from her adrion. Love v

Even though several years have passed since I last saw Lucie I retain fond memories of when we sold real estate for the same company. She was always so full of life and quite an inspiration; she will be missed!
