Reverend Glen E. McGuire, 96, of Russellville, Arkansas, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born on February 6, 1928, in Pottsville, Arkansas, to John and Biddie Jane McNutt McGuire.
A proud veteran, Rev. McGuire served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army. He dedicated his life to ministry, serving as an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over 60 years and pastoring congregations in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He was a devoted member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God and supported numerous ministries, including OASIS International Ministries.
Rev. McGuire was a man of deep faith who found joy in studying the Scriptures and sharing God's Word. He also cherished the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time with his beloved puppies. His life was a reflection of his steadfast commitment to Christ and his love for his family and community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Trafhene Ruth McGuire; his parents; six brothers; and one sister. He is survived by two daughters, Yonda Jean Bailey of Russellville and Gerieta Kaye Banyai of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Rev. Dustin Heath Bailey of Russellville and Andras' Elliot Banyai of Tulsa; one sister, Ruby Reeves of Atkins, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Russellville, with Rev. Jeff Lewis and Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the United States Army will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to OASIS International Ministries, P.O. Box 31, Poteau, OK 74953.
