John Gale Obituary
Our beloved John Charles Gale, aged 85, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
Born on October 11, 1939, in Washington, D.C., to Frank and Mary Agnes LaRouche Gale, John lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication. He married Ellen Sue Gale on September 9, 2019, in Conway, Arkansas, marking a joyful chapter in his life. A former manager at Safeway Grocery, John was also a cherished part of the Russellville First Assembly of God, where he found comfort and connection in his faith community.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Christopher Dill, his first wife Phyllis Holland Gale, and his siblings Bill, Bud, and Nancy Gale.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sue Gale of Russellville; his loving daughter, Debi Headley of Russellville; and his stepchildren Stephen Humphrey (Karen) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Suzanne Srader (Darrell) of Russellville. He was a proud grandfather to three step-grandchildren: Drue Humphrey (Jackie) of Omaha, Elizabeth Spahn (Brett) of Batesville, and Emily Srader (Ethan Watkins) of Rolla, Missouri. John's memory will also live on in the hearts of his great-grandchildren Warren, Whit, and Winnie Spahn.
A memorial service to honor John's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Humphrey Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Norberg. A private committal service was held at the Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center under the care of Humphrey Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will forever remain a testament to a life well-lived and a heart full of love.
