Kenneth Joe Bailey, 75, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away in the Conway Regional Hospital on September 7, 2023. He was bon October 29, 1947, in Alpena, Arkansas, to Charlie Bailey and Lena Campbell Bailey.
Kenneth graduated from Green Forest High School, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas, where he was recruited to play basketball, and Arkansas College (Lyon). He was an avid sports fan and an awesome basketball player. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling and playing the game of golf.
He began his career with Entergy in the 1980's, and retired in 2011. He worked in procurement at various sites with the company including lndependence Power Plant, Newark, Arkansas, Arkansas Nuclear One, in Russellville, Arkansas, an Entergy Mississippi, Inc., Jackson, Mississippi. Kenneth and Karen moved to Conway, Arkansas, 2020.
Kenneth was proud of his 26-year military career as a member of the Arkansas National Guard, SVC BTRY 1/142D Field Artillery. His unit was activated in 1990-91, and he was deployed to serve in The Gulf War Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Kenny leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Karen; two daughters, Kierstein Toth (John) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Kimberly Bailey of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Alexander Bailey (Ashlyn) of Leslie, Arkansas; and Kylie Harris of Marshall; and great grandchildren, Katelyn and Melvin Bailey of Leslie, Arkansas, and Jameson and William Harris of Marshall, Arkansas.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
