Woodrow Byers Obituary

Woodrow Wilson Byers, Jr. age 79, of Dover, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1946, in Atkins, Arkansas to the late Woodrow Wilson Byers, Sr. and Hazel Duvall Byers. Woodrow was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. He and his wife managed the Warehouse Main Street Mission for eight years. Woodrow possessed a servant's heart that embraced the call to care for the vulnerable. He lived by the words of Matthew 25, always seeing and serving Jesus in those who were hungry, thirsty, strangers, naked, sick or imprisoned. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tina Hall; a sister, Dorthy Lee and a granddaughter, Tanisha Pack.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Byers; four children, Tonie Saylors, Scottie Byers, Doug Cossey, Sherri Lynn; one brother, Ricky Byers; one sister, Pat Howard; 15 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
