AGE: 84 • Somerdale
Albert "Al" J. Zurzolo, age 84, of Somerdale, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, November 3, 2016. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (nee Mirenda); children, Carol (Randy) Herrington, Richard (Felicia), Chris (the Late Rosie), and Paul (the Late Cathy); grandchildren, April, Drew, Jennifer, Jacquelyn, Marissa, Kacey, Michael, Christopher, Kaiya, and Giana; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Albert spent his younger years as a Sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He is well known for being one of the original founders and owners of The Coliseum Sports Complex in Voorhees. Al most enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, and all sports, but particularly boxing and hockey. He was instrumental in the foundation of youth and high school ice hockey programs in the South Jersey area.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation with the family on Tuesday morning 9-11:30AM at EUGENE J. ZALE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 712 N. WHITE HORSE PIKE, STRATFORD, NJ 08084. PH 856-783-5100. Funeral Mass following at 12PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish - St. Lawrence Church 135 N. White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021. Interment private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in Al's name to Neumann University Scholarship Fund (Neumann.edu/giving).
