Delores Miah Obituary

Daughter of Lucius Sr. and Plurel Garner began her life's journey on July 29th 1935 in Toledo Ohio. She departed this life on Wednesday December 17th 2003.
She received her formal education in the Toledo Public School system graduating from Libbey High School. She then attended Bluefield State College in West Virginia where in January of 1963 she earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education.
On August 10 1962 Delores was united in holy matrimony to Shuna A. Miah Jr. From this union two sons Shuna III and Kahlu were born.
Delores dedicated her life to the education of children teaching the first and second grades within the Philadelphia Public School system for over thirty years. In addition she participated in charity work as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and The Continental Societies.
Delores was affiliated with Living Word Bible Fellowship Church and was active in many church and community endeavors. She is mourned by: Husband Shuna Jr.; Sons Shuna III and Kahlu; Daughter-in-law Michelle; Sisters Pearl of California Iantha and Joan of Ohio Janice of Arizona; Brother Charles of Connecticut; Sisters-in-law Colsome of New York Colletta and Shugariah of New Jersey Judith of Connecticut; Brothers-in-law Jerry of Ohio William of New Jersey Robert of New York. She is also cherished by thirty-five nephews and nieces as well as a multitude of other family and friends.
Services: Saturday 11am at the Living Word Bible Fellowship 133 W. Church St. Blackwood NJ where friends may call after 9am. Interment: Blackwood Baptist Cemetery. A public viewing will be observed Friday evening from 5pm-8pm at the CARL MILLER FUNERAL HOME 831 Carl Miller Blvd. Camden NJ.
