Michael G. Reed, 62, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital Gateway Campus.
Mike was born June 6, 1956 in Evansville to the late Bruce Reed and Patricia (Ferguson) Reed Stewart. He worked as a truck driver for Henry Fligeltaub Company for over 20 years and was a member of the American Legion Eugene Pate Post #265, the Owls and the Riverbend Association. Mike was an avid Harley rider, volunteer for the AIDS Resource Group and he organized and participated in many poker tournaments. He enjoyed a good joke or playing a prank; but his greatest pride was his grandchildren and supported them in everything they did.
Surviving Mike are his wife, Rita Reed; daughters, Stacey (Mike) Easley and April (Aric) Koehler and sons, Scott (Lynette) Reed and Andrew Dealph, all of Evansville; three sisters, Cindy Battieger, Beth Ann Reed and Sandy Maurer; brothers, Jimmy (Fredia) Reed and Jeff (Linda) Reed; stepmother, Peggy Reed and grandchildren, Mason, Caleb and Abigail Reed, Kyrie Easley, Logan and Wade Dealph and Owen Koehler.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the AIDS Resource Group, 101 NW 1st Street, Evansville, IN 47708.
