Paul Glaser Obituary

Paul F. Glaser, Sr.

Haubstadt, IN - Paul F. Glaser, Sr, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday April 2nd, 2020. Born February 26th, 1939, in Evansville to John and Frieda Glaser. He was raised in Evansville (St. Wendel Community) and attended Mater Dei High School, graduating in 1957. He married the love of his life, Judy, on September 29th, 1962. They raised three boys.

He is survived by his wife Judith "Judy" (Brenner) of over 57 years, three sons: Paul Jr. (Margaret) of Ft. Branch, Kevin (Juli) of Marion and Mark of Hillsborough, NC; Six grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Lee) Halbig, Devon, Shawn, Emilia, Chloe and Konner and great grandchild Charles. Eight Siblings: Sarah Paul (George), Marilyn (Ambrose) Clements, Bernice Marx, Betty (Kenny) Kissel, James "Jim" (Cathy), Dennis (Kathy), Donna (William "Bill") Eickoff, John (Lori) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Frieda, infant son John William, daughter-in-law Jeanne, brothers-in-law Albert Paul and Robert "Bob" Marx.

Paul worked for Jerry Huffman Construction and then for Whirlpool Corp., retiring in 2002 after 34 years of service. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, St. James Men's Club and Knights of St. John Com. 345, receiving the Indiana Knight of the year award in 1989. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard and supported fundraisers for Marian Educational Outreach. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing Clabber, gardening, tending to his pecan trees, raising rabbits, supporting his children and grandchildren in their interests, traveling, NASCAR racing, collecting model antique cars, Professional Wrestling and driving his '66 Plymouth Fury III in parades.

Paul touched the lives of so many people through his acts of kindness and support of charities. He was also quick to poke fun in his low quiet voice. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We are so blessed to have had him in our lives.

His family will hold a private graveside service for all immediate family members in St. James Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday, April 8th at 10:30 AM. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Please feel free to share memories of Paul for his family at https://www.wadefhinc.com. Arrangements are being handled by Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. James Catholic Church or Heritage Hospice, Evansville.

Paul's family would like to acknowledge and thank all of the nurses and aides at the Heritage Center for their unwavering care, compassion and friendship for the last several years.

To Paul's Fa.: I met Paul when I lived in Haubstadt and joined the K of St. John. He was a very nice person and enjoyed him as my partner in playing clabber. I have fond memories of him. May he rest in peace and will include him in my prayers.
