Paula Vincini Obituary
Evansville - Paula Vincini, age 66, of Evansville, IN, died at Deaconess Gateway Heart Hospital on May 31, 2019.
She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on July 9, 1952, to Wayne E. and Shirley A. Harden, both of whom preceded her in death.
Paula's lifelong passion was learning and teaching. She had degrees from Indiana State University and Indiana University and taught and worked in educational technology and student and faculty support at Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana State University, Tufts University, and The American University of Antigua during her long career in higher education. In addition, she was an avid and voracious reader throughout her life.
Paula's keen intelligence characterized every aspect of her life. Her life was defined by her compassion and love for family, friends, and the many students she helped through the challenges of their higher education.
She was a member of Patchwork Central for many years and worked as a volunteer tutor, tutor trainer, and board member of Regional Reading Aid/The Literacy Center at Ivy Tech.
Paula is survived by her husband of 20 years, John Vincini, her son, Sean Swank, his fiancé, Nicole San Angelo, her granddaughter-to-be, Natalie, all of Evansville, brothers, Bruce Harden of Denver, Colorado, and Mark Harden (Kathy) of Austin, Texas, stepson, Stephen Vincini (Kristi) of West Columbia, South Carolina, stepdaughter Shawn Wagner (Christopher) of Greenville, South Carolina, and four step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Patchwork Central.

Paula was a wonderful friend in high school, held in the highest regard by everyone in our class. We stayed in touch and maintained our friendship throughout our lives and she will be missed. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Paula was a member/founder of Womens Book Club and shared her passion for literature with all of us. At Ivy Tech, I knew her as as a well organized, talented educator. I will miss Paula, her wit and love of books. My deepest condolences to her husband John and son Sean.
