Evansville, Indiana

Robert E. Reutter, 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, in Sarasota, FL. He was born on May 13, 1929, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Elbert and Mame (Huff) Reutter.

Robert was an Air Force veteran, serving as an instructor. He started as a school bus driver for the EVSC and retired as Superintendent of the EVSC Bus Transportation. He was an avid golfer, loved fishing, crossword puzzles, and enjoyed building model airplanes. Robert was a life member of the West Side Nut Club and a member of the VFW Post #1114. He was a 1947 graduate of F. J. Reitz High School.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Richard Reutter.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Reutter; son, Tom Reutter (Sarah); daughter, Diana Mahrenholz (Terry); sisters, Mary Ann Bryant (Gary) and Carol Dingman (Gordon); grandchildren, Melissa Mahrenholz, John Mahrenholz (Stacy), Claire and William Reutter.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, officiated by Pastor Charlie Brown, with burial following the service. Friends may visit Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the Mausoleum Chapel.

Contributions may be made to the West Side Nut Club. Condolences may be offered at www.AlexanderNorthChapel.com.

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Gloria and I pass along our condolences to Mary Lou and the entire family. Many good memories. Bob and I were Member Member teammates while he was still playing. Good memories of the times we spent with Bob and Mary Lou on the Gofl course, fishing for strips, having dinner and other social activities with them.
He will always be remembered as a good friend and a really good man.
