Ruby Herron Obituary
Mount Vernon, Ind.
Ruby Herron, 81, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at New Harmony Healthcare. She was born on June 6, 1931, in Mt. Vernon, Ind., to Ben and Alma (Hutchison) Schmidt.
Ruby had worked at Whirlpool and retired from Salon Wow as the book keeper. She was an avid gardener and loved to play tennis. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Gladys Thomas and Dorothy Lewis; and brothers, Elmo, Ronald, Theodore and Roger Schmidt.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Bill Herron; daughters, Debra McGinnis (Scott) and Robin Halter (Leon); grandchildren, Kris Russell, Amy Perry, Shaun Patton, Daniel Ludwig, Samuel Ludwig and Benjamin Halter; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Dane Patton, Hera Ludwig and Grae Hopgood; and brother, Howard Schmidt.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main St. in Mt. Vernon, with burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time at the funeral home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
