Ruby Maxwell, 93, of Evansville, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Hamilton Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 5, 1923 to the late Carl and Bertha (Brown) Franklin.

She worked for over 20 years at Kruckemeyer and Cohn and for 3 years at Deters Jewelry. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and was a former member of the Hunter Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. She enjoyed researching genealogy, playing card games and spending time with her friends and family.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Mary Barr (Stan) of Newburgh, IN; sons, Robert K. Maxwell Jr. (Sheila) of Newburgh, IN and John David Maxwell (Joan) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, J.R. Barr (Naomi), Cathleen Wyatt (Jesse), Jennifer Hall (Tim), Jason Maxwell (LeeAnne), Bob Maxwell (Maria), Kim Maxwell, Brian Maxwell (Erin); great-grandchildren, Kelsey Barr, Ryan Maxwell, Tyler Maxwell, Tanner Hall, Caden Hall, Addison Hall, Nathan Maxwell and Alyssa Maxwell.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert K. Maxwell Sr.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home with Reverend David Cullison officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood Chapel Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama at 1:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
