Boonville, Ind.
Ruby L. (Jeffries) Fortune Scott joined her loved ones in Heaven Monday, February 13, 2017. She was 84.
Ruby was born June 20, 1932, to Charles W. and Ethel (South) Jeffries in Yankeetown, Ind. She was married to Pete Fortune for twenty-five years. They had two children, Judy and Tony. She was married seventeen years to Hugh K. Scott.
Her career span included tax prep, bookkeeping, counseling, etc. to many special clients. She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend and Christian. She was a member of Hemenway Presbyterian Church, in Boonville. Ruby was a world traveler. She loved attending all family activities.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; brothers, Charles Jr. and Orion; sisters, Mabel Montoya, Irene Jones and Thelma Payne Qualls; and grandson, William Austin Fortune.
Surviving are daughter, Judy (Fortune Herr) Fritts (Gene); son, Tony Allen Fortune (Arlene); grandsons, Allen Herr, Judd Herr (Jill), Cody Herr, Tobin Fortune (Jennifer) and Logan Fortune (Sheri); granddaughters, Jamie (Herr Butts) Render (Greg) and Robin (Fortune) Lockyear (Tom E); great-grandsons, Tyler Herr, Grant Butts, Blake Herr, Asher Herr, Odin Fortune, Joshua Lockyear, Hunner Fortune and Andrew Fortune; great-granddaughters, Sara Butts, Mykayla Fortune, Isis Fortune and Sydney Lockyear; nieces and nephews; and stepchildren.
A special thank you to caregivers, Ann, Brittney, Jamie, Robin and niece Justine, with River Point Facility.
Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel, with Pastor Tami Recob officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Ruby may be made to the Hemenway Presbyterian Church in Boonville.
