Newburgh, Ind.
Ted S. Lackey, 94, of Newburgh passed away at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Signature Health Care.
Ted was born March 16, 1923, in Mount Vernon, Mo., the son of the late Guy and Ethel (Pierce) Lackey and proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Mt. Olive General Baptist Church. Ted retired from Evansville Printing Corporation where he worked as a photo engraver.
He is survived by beloved wife of 74 years, Jewel "Judy" (James) Lackey of Newburgh, Ind.; daughter, Judy Clark (Morris) of Evansville; son, Larry Lackey of Newburgh, Ind.; brother, Robert "Wayne" Lackey; and grandson, Nicholas Leach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville with Pastor Ken Slater officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery where the American Legion Kapperman Post #44 will render full military rites .
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt. Olive General Baptist Church, 4377 S R 261, Newburgh, IN 47630.
