Time certainly does fly by as I close my eyes and think of our days at Liberty Auto and it really doesn't seem all that long ago! Dad,
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss or think about you. Thank you for all you did for me. I am still trying to be half the man you were. But because of you, I am a man that you would be proud of. I have you to thank for that. It's been six years and it feels like an eternity. But one thing I am sure of, I know for sure you are still by my side everyday. Thank you for that. I am one lucky man to have had a father like you.
I love you.

Ben....I was just thinking of you.....and I thought I would drop you a line, or two. You'd be so proud of where your kids and grandkids are today. You taught them all so well. They are doing fantastic. Everyone is finding their own place in life. But, You still have a way wispering in someone's ear....and making motivation. (that's a good thing). I personally have to thank you for building the family, and the family values, for what we have today.
We still do "macaroni Sunday"...and it's great. I'm sure your ears are ringing when we get together. :). But most of all we are here for EACHOTHER! Throught difficulties....and fun. We chat, we lounge, and we just enjoy the company of FAMILY.

Ben......You are MISSED, LOVED. and CHERISHED. Thank you for all you MADE, all you TAUGHT, all you DID.... and all you WERE!

We miss you SOOOOO Much......

I know this angel from heaven
His wings were just made today
He was given roses
As he passed along this way
He was so very special
God made a plan for him alone
For he was a child of God
Who was made His very own.

For such a short time
He was my husband
the father of my children that I knew
I could call him anytime
He was there when I was blue
Now he is in heaven,
Such a short time I knew his soul
Even though I cannot touch him
Or feel his loving face
This angel's light is shinning down
In any given place.

An angel sent from heaven
A gift from God above
For his words follow me
In all that I do
A sweet reminder of my husband
the father of my children
Of his love that is so very true.

Happy fathers day Ben, I love you.

Bennie,

This is late in coming, but my older brother, Jimmy and I were at your services. We know some of your brothers very well. A month after you left us, my younger brother Louis passed away. Your younger brother Charlie was wonderful to my family - he is very close to Jimmy. A year ago today, April 12, 2007, my youngest brother, Joey, left us. Tony and Charlie were there as usual doing what they could for us in our time of grief. Ben, we just buried Charlie a few weeks ago and never a more courageous and finer man walked the earth. I became reaquainted with your son Bennie, Jr. A very fine and respectful young man.
Ben, I hardly knew you, but I heard many good things about you over the years and feel fortunate to have know Charlie, Joey and Frankie so well.
God bless you,
Johnny A.

WHEN HE IS GONE When he is gone and taken from here there are no words to express the sadness and fear. He'll never hear the words that you long to say so tell him you love him on this special day. Don't ever hold back to do those special little things; let him see the joy that he really does bring. My father was taken not so long ago; I find myself missing and needing him so. People have asked me, what do I want for this day I think for a moment and slowly turn away. Because, what I want the most, I can never have again that's to kiss and hold my father, my very best friend. I wake up many nights, sometimes in a trance crying to the Lord, begging for one last chance to tell him I love him and to see his smiling face to tell him without him this world's an empty place. My visits to my father are now sitting at his grave clinging to the love that he forever gave. So, those of you who still have your father don't be afraid, to tell him you love him on this special day.
Happy birthday Dad.

Ben,
I remember the out pouring of love from friends and family, their words, deeds of compasion and kindness but most of all I remember the love we shared, the life we built. The memories of events which occured a year ago are so vivid, when my heart was shattered making this a difficult time of the year. In a thousand lifetimes I might never pick the more perfect words to say how I feel. Every day I remember something about you, about us and that makes me happy we were together. I miss you calling me on the phone, seeing you smile, watching you walk through the door and just knowing you were there, the memories are the things I treasure the most. And I can only say from my heart I love you, simple as that. I love you and I always will. To me these are the perfect words. I miss you dearly. Happy Valentines Day.
With all my love Carol

To the Mauro Family,

Our deepest sympathies to Carol, Benny, Shawn, Michelle and family. As you know, I go as far back with Benny from the day I was born on Oak St. and then onto my first job working with Benny at Liberty Auto Electric. I owe so many Thank-You's to Benny starting with teaching a 16 year-old kid back then how to drive a standard truck/car right onto teaching me the beginnings of a trade and becoming an electrician today as to which his advice never went through one ear and out the other because Benny wouldn't allow it. At 16 years old and right out of high-school, Benny taught me everything the hard way because according to Benny, that's how you go on and get ahead in life because things do not get handed to you on a silver platter .. He was right and I was fortunate. You couldn't say the words "I can't" with Benny (I tried with driving a standard) as his words right back at you were "There's no such thing as you can't" .. again, he was right and I was fortunate. Many of the things and much of the responsibility and discipline that Benny taught me 30 years ago, I took with me over the years and have instilled much of it into my own kids. All one had to do was just take a good look at his kids; kind, responsible and respectable .. again, he was right and we are all fortunate ! The difference now when I repeat something from what Benny had taught me is that I'll always take a look up to the sky and give him a little wink! I thank you and I love you Benjamin A. Mauro IV.

Our Deepest Sympathies,

Ben was a good man and loved by many. He must be so proud for the wonderful ways you have all reflected on his life. The stories told have helped so many understand the life of Ben Maruo.

I did not know him well enough to tell many stories, but he always made me laugh. Every time I drink a cup of hot tea with milk in it I will fondly remember the day that Ben had me try it...He will be greatly missed.

As the years went by, growing up with the Mauro family, I and many other people had gotten to know a very special family that helped us all grow. Since my father passed away, years ago, Benny has become like a father to me. Ben and his family have a very special bond and thats what made them who they are today. In the course of our lives their family has become larger with many adopted children that look at them as their own family. No matter what the problems we faced, we had a friend, a father, and a mother that we could talk to. How can I keep this short to explain them, I can't! The best I can do is Love (Ooshpot) yea! Right here in my heart an unconditional love and inspiration to us all.

THANKS BEN

I love you!

I have been blessed to have the opportunity to have met Benny Mauro and his Family. I feel that in his lifetime his goal was to touch many hearts of people. I am one of those people. I am not a family member, but in the years, growing up with his Family he had always opened his door for me with open arms and Benny treated me as one of his kids. In fact, he opened his doors to anybody who needed a helping hand. As a non Family member, I realized that he was not only a special man but a Father figure to us all and only hope when I become a father that I could fill the shoes that he has passed down to us all. He will be missed Dearly by all.

Dearest Carol and Family,

Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to you all, on the loss of your beloved husband and father. There are no words to take away the pain you're feeling. We can ask why, but only our Father in heaven knows why, and one day you will know too, but for now, faith in God will see you through this sad and difficult time. The death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus is our hope for eternal life, and in that hope, Ben lives on in heaven. In your lives there will be many thoughts that will bring loving memories of Ben to mind, and you'll laugh ... and you'll cry, but they will be precious and heartfelt treasures of the heart. Trust in God with all your heart and He will console you with His perfect peace.

Dearest Carol, Michelle, Shawn, Ben Jr. and your Families. There are no words to write that will tell you all how sad we are at this time. Our hearts will feel the emptiness forever. Benny was always ready and willing to help not only us but our children as well. His generosity and love will be especially remembered when you helped us move from CT to FL in the year 2000. During the pouring rain and long drive you remained cheerful and heplful. I will always remember how much fun we had making your special Red Clam Sauce. I just made it Wednesday and thought of you and giggled about how much garlic to add. I'm glad we had a chance to visit you during Christmas and tell you how much you are and always will be loved. You have been such a wonderful friend and we are blessed to have known you as a friend. You will be in our hearts and prayers always. Good-by our dear friend please watch over us from heaven.

Carol & Family,

It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, especially at such a young age. May you find comfort in the loving memories that Benny has left you with. And may you find comfort in the arms of our Lord, loved ones and friends.

Carol, Ben and Shawn,

I am saddened by your loss. I will always remember Benny with a smile. Whenever he came into the station he would always make me laugh with a funny joke or a one of a kind story. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

To the Mauro Family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Many fond memories will remain with me, especially the Christmas Eve gatherings with family and friends at Uncle Benny’s and Aunt Carol’s house. Although traditions may end, it is without a doubt that Uncle Benny’s devotion to family values is his legacy that we should carry with us forever.

I grew up with Benji and Ann Marie.

We were neighbors in Beardsley Terrace and our mothers were great friends. I remember the family with great fondness and pray that God will comfort all of you at this most difficult time.
