Betty Jane Nettleton Davis
Betty Jane Nettleton Davis, of Orange, CT, beloved wife of the late Trevor H. Davis, Sr., passed away peacefully on September 15, 2024. Born on January 30, 1930 in Milford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Clough Nettleton and Margaretha Theresia Grasson Nettleton.
Betty grew up in Milford, CT. She graduated from Milford High School in 1947 and married Trevor in 1950. They began to raise a family of four children, in Milford, before moving to Orange, CT in 1961. Betty had several jobs throughout her life, including bookkeeper, but her main one was raising her family. She loved her kids, and was faithful at bringing them up in the local Orange Congregational Church. She taught Sunday School, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Milford Historical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Orangewood Women's Club. She is a descendant of three people from the Mayflower. Betty enjoyed going out with her girlfriends and playing cards with friends. In her later years, at Maplewood at Orange, her favorite activity that she looked forward to every day, was happy hour with her friends and family!
Betty is survived by her four beloved children: Trevor H. Davis, Jr. (Denise Smith) of Middletown, CT, Pamela Hirth (Roy) of Orange, CT, Leslie Dockendorff (Jim) of North Haven, CT, and Glenn Davis (Jennifer) of Felton, CA, eleven grandchildren: Trevor "Tré" Davis III, Parker Davis, Jason Hirth, Michael Hirth, Nicholas Hirth, Christopher Dockendorff (Carrie), Jessica LoDolce (Chris), John Dockendorff (Paola), Josh Davis (Melissa), Matt Davis (Amy), and Sarah Booth (Kirk), as well as 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and additional family.
Betty is predeceased by her five siblings: Joan Baltrenas, Reginald Nettleton, Bruce Nettleton, Robert Nettleton, and George Nettleton.
A Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday September 28, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meetinghouse Ln, Orange, CT 06477 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery in Orange, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orange Congregational Church at https://
