He loved playing pinochle with his friends and played softball for many years with the Bridgeport Fire Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed following his grandchildren with all their activities including soccer, baseball games, and band competitions. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife Marge of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Carl Traub of Hamden, Karen Gallagher of Monroe, Sandra (Zane) Siwanowicz of Trumbull, and Andrew (Gina) Traub of Hamden; His adored grandchildren, Billy and Danielle Gallagher, Nicholas and Carlie Siwanowicz, and Nina and Luke Traub; his sister Susan Cahill of Shelton, In-laws Marie Mintell, Michael, Peter, and Edwina Mezick; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dear Margaret, children and extended family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Carl's passing. It is a very difficult disease to endure for all. My mother eventually lost the battle as well but I believe they are at rest in many ways. Those left behind feel the emptiness and terrible pain. My thoughts are with all of you. Love, Kathleen
