Christine Kinkel Obituary

Christine Kinkel
Christine Kinkel, 98, of Seymour, died November 4, 2017 at Shady Knoll. She was born in Yugoslavia on August 3, 1919. At age 18, she married David Kinkel, a landowner and farmer. During the waning days of WWII, Christine, her three toddler sons and many of her relatives had to flee. After their horrific journey, they found refuge in Germany and later immigrated to America to seek a better life. They worked very hard in knitting mills in NYC to save up to build a home in Oxford, CT. Due to her husband's poor health they relocated to Orlando, FL, where they lived for many years until he passed. Soon she returned to CT. She moved to Smithfield Gardens Assisted Living in Seymour. Due to health complications, she was hospitalized and then admitted to Shady Knoll for rehabilitation. Christine was an excellent cook and baker in Yugoslavian and German cuisine, as well as a lover of nature, the outdoors, and gardening. She was predeceased by son Walter; daughter Margie Bhar; husband David; mother Teresia Howe and sister Teresia Waite. Christine leaves behind: son Erwin (Marian); son Werner (Clara); granddaughters Julie and Kristin; great-granddaughter Violet; nephew's sons Rick and Peter with families, along with relatives and friends in the USA and Germany. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Monroe with a 4 to 7 p.m. visitation and a service at 7 p.m.

Dearest Mother- After all your life's struggles you are at peace at last. You know that our dear lord takes only the best and you were most surely one of the best. Our dear lord loved you so very much that he gave you such precious long life that we all were so blessed to have been able to share with you. The lord is your strength and your rock, your fortress and your deliverer. He will surely welcome you in his kingdom. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen. Mom I will miss you forever.
Love always, your daughter in-law Clara

May perpetual light shine upon her soul. May God grant peace and succor to those she left behind. May the heavens receive her with trumpets and may her soul repose in eternal peace!

So sorry for your loss. I just wanted to share an encouraging promise from our Creator. Isaiah 35:10 says; " Exultation & rejoicing will be theirs, And grief & sighing will flee away. " Hopefully soon. Sincerely,
