Daniel Agria Obituary

Agria, Daniel J.
Daniel J. Agria, age 68, of Milford passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Carol Pietrini Agria. Born in Bridgeport on February 16, 1946, he was a son of the late Dominick and Carmela Pollicita Agria. Daniel proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was later employed by Sikorsky Aircraft where he worked as a printer before his retirement with over 32 years of dedicated service. Danny, as he was known by friends and family, was a man who enjoyed people. He had a quiet demeanor but a highlight of any given day usually involved striking up a conversation with someone he met while about his daily errands. He enjoyed the simpler moments in life and meeting and helping people where and when he could was just who he was. One of his great passions was cars, whether it was collecting and building models or attending car auctions or a Sunday drive in his Corvette. He had an amazing ability to build, such as the time he built an organ, not to mention the television and speakers. Yet with that same natural ability he would complete the simplest of projects and derive great satisfaction from a job well done. Danny lived each day without expectation yet anticipated something from each day. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife Carol, other survivors include his children, Emery Agria and his wife Tammy of Milford and Danielle Simon and her husband Charles of Manhattan, NY, four cherished grandchildren, Beckett, Giuliana, Parker and Luke, his brother, Richard Agria and his wife Gail of Stratford as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Daniel was predeceased by his brother James Agria. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Burial with full military honors will follow in Milford Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 a .m. until the time of service. Memorial donations may be made to a project of interest to Danny , the non-profit organization Oliver Hazard Perry Education at Sea, 29 Touro Street, Newport RI, 02840.
