David Bodine Obituary
David Butterfield Bodine passed away on August 31, 2019 at the age of 67. He was the son of Barbara A. Bodine and the late Richard P. Bodine Sr. A graduate of Trinity College, Dave earned his law degree at Boston University and later in life obtained a master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University. He practiced law in Bridgeport before joining the family business, The Bodine Corporation. Dave was an avid reader with a sharp and curious mind. A lifelong learner, he enjoyed nothing more than sharing what he was reading or debating your topic of choice. In addition to his mother, Dave leaves behind two sons, Maximillian C. Bodine and Nicholas V. Bodine, his brother and sister, Richard P. Bodine, Jr. and Nancy B. Wolcott, in addition to several nieces, a nephew and his beloved dog Shadow. A Memorial Service will be held September 14, 2019, at the Bridgewater Congregational Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Bridgewater Congregational Church, 10 Clapboard Road, Bridgewater, CT 06752.

I just learned of David's passing. We were close friends in law school and saw each other several times in the years just after, including once when he gave me a tour of the Bodine Corporation. It was fun knowing him -- but unfortunately for me, he was a better poker play than I was!

We were shocked and saddened to just learn of Dave's passing. Treasured memories go back decades. More recently, many fun times playing golf. Always a fount of knowledge and a classic part of the former Bridgeport life. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. We shared so much during our formative years. Sports, music and so much more. Playing second base on our beloved Hawks and lead guitar in our band, "Our Gang". Those special nights at the Continental Restaurant & Jazz Club where we heard the best Jazz in the world. Will miss you My Man! RIP

Dave, we met about 2 years ago and although we only knew each other for a very short time you were always so kind to me . You offered a helping hand or wise words of wisdom, in , what now, I reflect on as a very shaky time in my life . I am deeply saddened by this news. My thoughts are with your boys now and I hope they know how much you absolutely and unconditionally loved them no matter what . I feel blessed to have known you for the short time I did. A big shout out to the Heavens above as they welcome another super star ... Rest In Peace Dave..

I read with sadness of David's passing. It made me feel old. Brought back fun memories of years ago. David was brilliant, compassionate, funny and entertaining beyond words. The Bodines were a wonderful family and gave so much to the City of Bridgeport. And my old friend, Flip. Lots of laughs. RIP, David.

I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. It made feel old. David was brilliant, compassionate, funny,and entertaining beyond words. Many memories from years ago. Mr.and Mrs. Bodine were wonderful people and gave so much of their time to the City of Bridgeport. And my old friend, Flip. Indeed, where did the time go. RIP, David.

I just read with sadness about David's passing. I worked with him many years ago for a long time professionally, and later on we cajoled and debated at the local gym. He was full of life and passionate about...a lot. I will miss him.

I remember the Bodine's quite well at BCC. We lived in BPA and we caddied up the hill and occasionally for the Flipper. Keep the memories alive and focus on the positive as you endure the pain.
