David Martin Hidu

David Hidu Obituary

HIDU David Martin Hidu, age 53, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2004, in Minneapolis, Minn. Born in Bridgeport, on May 27, 1951, he grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School, in 1969. He was a journeyman cameraman in offset printing for the past 35 years. David was best known and loved for his devotion to family, sense of humor, generosity and his lifelong passion, win or lose, for the NY Yankees. David is survived by his son, Daniel Scott Hidu and his daughter, Nicole Elizabeth Hidu, both of Egan, Minn. He was the beloved son of Ellouise M. McDonald, of Stratford and the late Benjamin Hidu Jr. David is survived by four brothers, Richard J. Hidu, of West Haven, Timothy G. Hidu Sr., Robert McDonald and Willard McDonald Sr., all of Stratford; four sisters, Sharon Gilleran, of Redding, Janis Coubrough, of Milford, Lisa Uvino, of West Haven and Wendy McDonald, of Milford. He is predeceased by his sister, Susan LeBlond. David is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillian McDowell, of Stratford; and a large extended family. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating his life at Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main Street, Stratford, on Friday, September 17, at 7 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
