David Stanley McNemar, Sr. age 83, the lovable husband of Eleanor (Perellie) McNemar, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 19, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born May 24, 1933, in Clarksburg, WV, Stan (as he was known to his family) moved to CT at age 16 and has been a resident of Bridgeport and then Fairfield ever since. He attended Central High School in Bridgeport, where he met his lifelong love Eleanor Perellie; they were married June 14, 1952. He held various positions at local companies, finally retiring from Shell Oil Company, in 1995, after 25 years of service. His focus on family was evident every day. He loved singing, even when he didn't know the words to the songs. He found humor in everything. He liked to tell jokes and Eleanor always laughed at them. He enjoyed cooking for his family; his chili was phenomenal. He loved working on projects around the house, listening to country music, golfing, writing poetry and walking 5 miles daily with Eleanor. Their journey through life together ended on February 19, 2017; their love affair will never end. He passed away with his wife and family by his side. Stan is survived by his loving wife Eleanor; daughter Diana Sisler and husband Ray Sisler of Bridgeport, CT; son David S. McNemar Jr. of CA, daughter Beth McNemar and partner Marisa Scotti of Bridgeport, CT; grandson Jeff Sisler of Phoenixville, PA; grand-dog Lucky; brother Thomas McNemar of Bridgeport, CT; sister-in-law Ann McNemar, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Grasmere By the Sea, the staff of Vitas and VNS/Partners in Care, and his aides who helped care for Dave (as he was known to all outside his family). Our family would like to specifically thank Aldene, Angela, Angie, Dorothy, Jean, and Sandy for their care and compassion. He is going to be missed and loved forever. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in Oaklawn Cemetery, 1530 Bronson Rd., Fairfield, CT, for a Graveside service.
