Dennis Essary Obituary

Dennis M. Essary
Dennis M. Essary, age 62, of Trumbull, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Born in Detroit, MI on February 12, 1955, he graduated from Western Michigan University in 1978, married his high school sweetheart and their adventure began. His career in the paper industry enabled him to travel and become well respected in his field as Director, Digital Papers for Verso Corporation. Dennis loved to travel, play golf, garden, and was an avid photographer. But time spent with family and friends was what he enjoyed the most. He was always ready to offer support, guidance and lend a hand, especially if it involved cars or technology. When his children were growing up, he was very involved in their sporting activities and was instrumental in organizing Trumbull Youth Lacrosse. In addition to his wife of 39 years, Diane, and his mother Mary Kathryn Goodman Essary of Florida, survivors include three loving children, Kristin Essary, her husband John Collins III and adored grandson Jack of New York City, Kyle Essary of Lake Tahoe, CA and Matthew Essary of Trumbull, his sister, Cindy Wagner and her husband Don Wagner of PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dennis's life will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tashua Knolls Golf Club, 40 Tashua Knolls Lane, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in his honor. Arrangements entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. To Diane and family, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I had the great honor and privilege of working with Dennis while at New Page. He had an excitement, enthusiasm and zest for his family, work and life. Such a positive example of living life's moments to the fullest. Although he leaves us all too soon - he showed us all how it should be done. Rest In Peace...

Dennis was a great friend, colleague & mentor to many of us. Always positive, creative & looking to help colleagues & our region succeed, this photo is a perfect example of what made Dennis such a great leader. Dennis arranged a multi-day digital workshop/boot camp at RIT to make everyone experts in this field. Dennis touched many people and his sincerity, genuineness & kindness will never be forgotten. Diane and family. I never met you - but I have heard about all of you for 10 years +! I don't have to tell you what a great dad / husband / grandfather dennis was - you know that. he was my corporate brother and colleague - I always looked forward to his visits to the west coast. dennis was such a giving person - full of life and full of support. I cannot remember a time that I was on my own and not with my friend and colleague ensuring that we were successful. I will miss Dennis's positive energy - his willingness to attend my daughter's athletic events after a long day of sales meetings. Dennis knew how important it was for me to catch that shimmer of time while we were traveling all over the west US together.
