Edward J. Rashan, age 87, of Milford, beloved husband of Mary Jane Scordo Rashan, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Born and raised in Bridgeport, son of the late Stephen and Meri Horvath Rashan, Edward lived most of his life in Fairfield before moving to Milford 20 years ago. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the US Army. He had worked for the Bryant Electric Co of Bridgeport for over 35 years until his retirement. At Bullard Havens High School, Ed played baseball and was the team captain of the school basketball team. He was an avid bowler and Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. A loving husband and father, he will be greatly missed. In addition to his devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Jane, Edward is survived by his son, Edward Rashan and his wife Teresa of Milford, a sister Olga Lesko of PA, dear family friend Catherine Rodrigues, brothers in law Joseph Scordo and his wife Joyce, and Bill Charney, sisters in law Phyllis Ripley and Lavinia Scordo as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lori Ann Rashan, brothers Joseph, Otto, Frank, Albert, Anthony and Stephen, sisters Veronica Rashan, Martha Hencsei and Josephine Velky, and sister in law Sue Charney. Funeral services were held privately in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
