Ethel Timpanelli Obituary

Ethel Mae Timpanelli
WATERBURY - It is with broken hearts that the family of Ethel Mae (Cullen) Timpanelli, age 82, of Waterbury, share the news of her passing on Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Anthony Timpanelli Sr. with whom she was happily married to for 40 wonderful years.
Ethel was born in Milford, Connecticut, on April 26th, 1942, the daughter of the late Irving Lawrence and Evelyn Marion (Peck) Cullen. Ethel was raised and lived in Stratford, Connecticut most of her life, graduated from Stratford High School and worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She resided for the last 16 years in Waterbury. She was a Jeopardy maven who delighted in playing cards and games, and cooking, especially on Sundays when it was family game night. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzling, knitting and watching sports. Ethel was also a lover of music, whether it was an old hymn, a classic country ballad, the oldies or a sad love song she could hum or sing along to. She was a snowbird traveler and spent her winter months in her Florida home in New Port Richey. She was a generous soul with a wonderful sense of humor who loved nothing more than spending time with her loving family. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish and honor her memories are her children; Patrick Timpanelli and his wife; Sheila of Milford, Michael Timpanelli Jr. and his wife; Debra of Prospect, Daniel Timpanelli of Naugatuck, JoAnn Janneke of Waterbury and Jennifer Timpanelli of Waterbury, her grandchildren; Anthony, Alicia, Nicholas, Nicole, Michael the III, Joseph, Emily, Samantha, Scott and Abigail, her 13 great-grandchildren, her siblings; Evelyn Croteau, Dorothy Gosart, Linda MacLannan and Kathleen Cordisco. Besides her loving husband, Michael, she is also predeceased by her loving brothers, Richard, William, Irving Jr., Robert and James Cullen, her grandson, Matthew Janneke and her daughter-in-law, Donna Timpanelli. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
All services for Ethel Timpanelli will be held privately at the convenience of her family. The Casey-O'Neill Funeral Home and Cremation, 742 Main St., Oakville, CT has been honored to assist Ethel's family during this difficult time.
