Linda Williams-Siler was born April 30, 1955, in
Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Margie & George Williams. At the age of 70 Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, light, and compassion that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Linda shared a devoted marriage with William Siler, who preceded her in passing. Together they built a beautiful life and family, sharing over more than 30 years of marriage. Linda shared a deeply devoted marriage with William Siler, who predeceased her. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, sharing more than 30 years of love. Their union was blessed with three children-George, Marjorie, and John Siler (wife, Crystal Rios). She also leaves behind 3 beloved grandchildren, Aliyah, Royal, and Divine. Along with a number of beautiful nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Linda is survived by her mother, Margie Williams, and her loving sisters Vanessa Jefferson (husband, Louis) and Robin Williams Byrd (husband, Wayne). She shared a special bond with her younger sister Joyce Williams-Turner (husband, James), who preceded her in passing. Linda and Joyce were not only sisters, but they were also teammates, roommates, and best friends. They shared a lifetime of laughter, memories, and love.
Linda was raised in Stratford, Connecticut, where she attended Stratford Public Schools and graduated from Stratford High School in 1973. She then attended Eastern Connecticut State College for her undergraduate degree in sociology and graduated in 1977 and the University of Connecticut for her master's in social work, graduating in 1981. Linda devoted her life to helping others through her work as a social worker at many schools and organizations from New Haven, Connecticut, to New York City. While working with the Bridgeport Board of Education, she supported and guided countless students and families for over twenty years.
She had a special gift for listening, encouraging others, and helping people navigate difficult moments with patience, understanding, and care. Outside of her professional life, Linda found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed dancing, live music, and spending time with family and friends. In the warmer months, you could often find her in her garden, lovingly tending to it and ensuring her yard was always beautiful.
Linda was also known for being an incredible baker; she treasured making treats for family and friends. She was known for her magic bars, banana pudding & peanut butter cookies that were forever made with love. Linda will eternally be remembered for her gentle spirit, kindness, and the warmth she brought into every room she entered. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and deeply cared for. Her life was a reflection of love, family, and service to others. Though she may no longer be with us in person, Linda's love, strength, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all who were blessed to know her.
