Cheryl L. "Bradley" Hence

Cheryl L. (Bradley) Hence, 78, of Vernon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 23, 2026-her 78th birthday.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 23, 1948, she was the cherished daughter of the late Whitney and Betty (Haskell) Bradley. Cheryl spent her early years growing up between Springfield, MA and Illinois.

Cheryl pursued her passion for helping others by earning her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Connecticut. She dedicated many years of her life to the nursing profession before transitioning to education. She was a nursing instructor at the University of Connecticut and later became a Health Occupations instructor at East Hartford High School.

She made her home in Vernon, where she lovingly raised her family. Cheryl found great joy in life's simple pleasures and creative pursuits. She had a deep love for quilting, knitting, sewing, reading, and painting-talents she generously shared with those around her.

Cheryl is survived by her beloved daughter, Kristen Bozard and her husband Austin of Orlando, Florida; her two treasured grandchildren, Carter and Kira Bozard; her brother, Gary Bradley and his wife Rosalind of Conway, South Carolina; her niece and nephew, Pam Adamson and Scott Bradley; as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers. Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
