Howard Hochman Obituary
Howard "Doc" Hochman, 90 years old of Stonington, CT, passed away on April 9, 2021 in Bridgeport, CT. Born in New York City, son of the late Molly and Irving Hochman.
Howard was the Beardsley Zoo veterinarian for 50 years. He was also the owner of Brookside Veterinary Hospital in Bridgeport and Bird and Exotic Clinic in Norwalk. He served in the US Army. He was the fleet surgeon at Westerly Yacht Club. He was the president of Agudas Achim synagogue. He loved to be with his children, grandchildren and wife of 55 years. He was an amazing man and loved by all.
Howard is survived by his beloved wife Pat Hochman of Stonington, CT, his children Dr. David Hochman of Milford, CT, Dr. Daniel Hochman of South Salem, NY and Samantha and William DiCicco of Milford, CT, his grandchildren Jessica Hochman, Jacob Hochman, Brandon DiCicco, Zackary Hochman, Jack DiCicco, Isaac Hochman and Eden Hochman, and his nephew Andrew Rappaport.
He was predeceased by his sister Selma Rappaport.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a private service will be held at Loyalty Cemetery in Fairfield.

As a teenager growing up in the 1960s and 1970s, I have fond memories of Howard. Now that I am an old man, I can truly appreciate what a wonderful person he was. Howie, I wish I had spent more time getting to know you better. Rest in peace.

I'm Howard's first cousin, now a retired physician living in a tiny Hamlet north of San Francisco. Howie always made the best model airplanes, but I admired him most when, as a veterinarian student he delivered a calf at my uncle Norman's farm.
