James Dundas Obituary

DUNDAS Mr. James (Jim) Dundas, age 70 of Milford, passed away on August 13, 2010 at Milford Hospital. Born on February 6, 1940 in Jersey City, he was the son of the late James and Loretta Quilin Dundas. Jim was employed in several positions with transportation companies in Connecticut. He spent the last 28 years with the Milford Transit District as a bus and van operator. Jim truly enjoyed his work and received great satisfaction in serving the public. Jim's vast knowledge of the transportation field was eagerly shared with his co-workers. In his time with Milford Transit, Jim logged almost one million miles of driving for Milford without an accident. Jim also served for many years as the Union Shop Steward for Local 1336 of the Amalgamated Transit Union. In his leisure time, Jim was an avid boater and member at the Pequonnock Yacht Club in New Haven, sharing stories and boating experiences with his friends there. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, co-workers and transit clients. Jim is survived by a sister, Loretta Skibowski and her husband, Alfonse of Woodbridge, N.J.; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Banghart of New Jersey and Kathleen Conti of South Carolina. A Gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, August 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford. www.codywhitefuneralservice.com
