James Pekar Obituary
Mr. James Joseph "Flaco" Pekar, age 65, of Prospect, passed away Friday July 3, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the long time companion of Evelyn Pepe of Prospect. Mr. Pekar was born in Bridgeport on April 6, 1950 a son of the late Frederick and Barbara (Landry) Pekar. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic at Montambault's in Waterbury, enjoyed playing pool and was former member of a pool league. Mr. Pekar was a United States Navy veteran having proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Mr. Pekar is survived by a daughter: Vicki Lea Pekar of Stratford, two sisters: Patricia Maietto of Stratford and Lynn Whaley and her husband John Whaley, Sr. of Stratford, two brothers: William Pekar of Shelton and Thomas Pekar of Shelton, a granddaughter: Morgan Stockheimer of Prospect and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Friday July 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Military honors will be presented at the church immediately following mass. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center, 1075 Chase Parkway, Ste. B,, Waterbury, Ct. 06708. I remember Jimmy (Flaco) to be a very warm friendly kind of man who loved his daughter Vicki with all his heart. Jimmy was a great story teller and joke teller he would deliver the lines precisoly had to laugh all the time. I miss him, On top of it all he was the best auto mechanic I hadever encounterd, taught me a lot of good tricks on easy wast to get a job done,Rest In Peace mmy friend,Rest in Peace.....

To the Pekar Family,
Jimmy (Valve Stem) as I knew him back in the late 70's when he worked at Town Fair Tire in Bridgeport wearing his railroad hat and driving his 1970 Monte Carlo was such a well liked friend. I Have many great times / memory's with Jimmy & Charlie G. back in our Showman / Circus Days...wish I was able to meet up with him once again to share our fun times together...miss you man... God Bless...

My prayers are with you during this most difficult time. My heart is very heavy right now on hearing the sad news of Jimmy "Flaco" passing.
Jimmy is no longer suffering and was met by his mom and dad at heaven's gates.
Jimmy was such a wonderful neighbor, who for many years was apart of my family and he will be greatly missed.
