Dear Edith and family,

We were so sad to hear of Joan's struggle with illness, but we join you in celebrating her life and the impact she had on so many people. It is comforting to know she is in paradise where she is experiencing the perfect life with God and many other loved ones.

I am a long lost relative (I think a second cousin)who grew up in Florida. Every summer my mom, Ruth Curtis and family visited Grandma Helen Weber, sister to Molly, and we would always have a huge reunion, often at Babe's home. I always looked forward to seeing Joan, who was like a big sister to me. One summer when I was 12 & she was 13, I got to spend a whole week at Joan's home. She was so fun to be with as we swam and did all kinds of activities. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

May God bring each of you his comfort and peace now and in the days ahead,

Jan Carlton & Ruth Curtis

Dear Family:
In 1952 I carried my Godchild Joan to be baptized in Zion Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. At that time, God accepted Joan for his own, and she was now prepared to be with Him in his kingdom. I am thankful to have been in CT to visit with Joan two weeks before she was called home. My love to Nettie, Lisa, Carrissa & Aiden...Aunt Babe

Edith, Lisa and Nettie,

I am so sorry we lost Joannie, she and I were friends for almost 53 years and I feel that I have not only lost a dear friend, but also my sister.

Edith, she so enjoyed the time she spent with you in her final year and told me about it often. Lisa she was so proud of you and loved her grandchildren dearly. Nettie, she was also very proud of you and so happy that you followed in her footsteps with her love of animals.

God Bless you all and please if you can keep in touch.

Annette and family: I am so very sorry of the loss of your very special and loving mom. She was a good friend to everyone. Although this is such a hard time for you Joan is at peace and is at such a beautiful place. A place with sunshine, love and caring all the time. In time you too will feel the love she is getting from the Lord. She will always be in your hearts as she will be in ours. Your mom always had a special way about her to help people and make them smile. Your mom will always be there for you and will always love you. My mom and Joan will soon become good friends and they will always watch over you and love you as I do. Love Patti (Jutcawitz) and Jim Hliva. If there is anything I can do to help you I am a phone call away. Love Your Friend PJ

I will miss Joan like so many others will. She has touched so many lives both in her profession and in her personal life as well. There will never be another meeting, picnic or convention that I won't think of her and be proud to have had her as a friend. The sky has another twinkling star and her name is Joan
