Emily A. Cuda

Emily A. Socha Cuda, 38, of Pleasant Mount, died on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Timothy J. Cuda. The couple married on December 22, 2025.

Born on January 15, 1987 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of Frederick Socha of Carbondale and Kimberly (Hollis) Long of Orange City, FL. Emily was a 2005 graduate of Forest City Regional High School. She later received an associates degree in accounting. She was currently employed by the Salvation Army.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life; from shopping and enjoying pampering sessions at the beauty shop to attending concerts with her family, each moment was a celebration for Emily.

A lover of the outdoors, Emily cherished the time spent fishing with her husband. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Emily's greatest pride and joy came 9 months ago, with the birth of their daughter, Lyla, whom she loved unconditionally.

She was a member of the Clifford United Methodist Church and a longtime friend of Bill W.

In addition to her husband, Tim, she is survived by her daughter, Lyla James Cuda; her sister, Stephanie Fleeger and husband, Cody of England; her brothers, Jake Socha and wife Koral of Browndale and Michael Long of FL; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Angelo and Susan Cuda of Sciota, PA; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler James Cuda.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8th at Ladore Confrence Center, 398 South St. Waymart at 5 pm. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.

A memorial fund is being set up for the care of her daughter Lyla. Information will be posted when it becomes available.
