John Spadone Obituary
July 25, 1957 - September 17, 2025
Born in Norwalk, CT to John Sr. and Ellin Cashel Spadone, Jay was a beloved son, brother, spouse, father -- and friend to pretty much every person who ever had the good fortune to know him. A graduate of Colgate University, he was an integral part of the Colgate 13 a 'Capella group, creating numerous vocal arrangements still sung today. Upon graduation, Jay pursued the performing arts in NYC as a performer, musician (jazz piano and electric bass), music and vocal arranger, music director, talent manager, and theatre general manager.
Jay's later career included Spadone Machine Company, StrawHat Auditions, computer programming and website development, property management, and a term on the Fairfield RTM. Music remained his true calling, teaching piano for many years. He was music director for several shows at Fairfield Warde High School and directed Warde's extracurricular women's and men's a 'Capella groups.
Jay is survived by his wife, Kirsti, and children Trey and Ruby; his mother Ellin; sister Lynn and her husband Jack Petropoulos; brother Jeff and his wife Leslee; and his niece and nephews, Nina, Peter, and JT.
A celebration of Jay's life will take place at a later date to be determined. Contributions in Jay's memory can be made to Save the Children or the Alzheimer's Association.
