Joseph Kennedy Obituary
Joseph Kennedy, Sr., 77, of West Haven born on September 18, 1938 to the late Warren and Lorraine (Solomon) Pettway, entered eternal rest July 5, 2016. Joseph retired as a lead machinist from Avco Lycoming-Textron located in Stratford, CT. He will be remembered for the love he held for his family, and his love of cooking a good meal for them as well. He also enjoyed listening to his favorite Blues artists. He leaves behind to cherish his memory loving wife Floreda (Williams) Kennedy of Bridgeport, son Joseph Kennedy, Jr. of Bridgeport, daughters; Zemeriah Williams and Andrea Summerville both of Bridgeport, Elena McKoy of East Haven, Arvetta (John) Andrade of West Haven, siblings; Rose York, Berthrine (Joe) Thomas, Bertha (Aaron) LeShore, Gloria Pettway, Queenie (Donald) Tricksey, Peter (Sharon) Pettway, Christopher Pettway, Marie (Michael) Bullock, LaBarron (Carolyn) Pettway, Steve (Ecephia) Pettway all of AL, Luke, Warren, and Michael (Carrie) Pettway all of Bridgeport, 10 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. He is predeceased by daughter April Jackson and sister Juanita McClain. A celebration of his life will take place Thursday July 14, 2016 at 12 Noon at Vertical Church; 225 Meloy Rd., West Haven, CT 06516, with calling hours at the church from 10-12 Noon. Interment is private. Services by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services; 1287 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511. To The Family My Prayers are with you that God continue to Strengthen you al and give you His Grace and Peace and surround and embrace you all in His Love. Certainly Joseph has been such a Blessing and Inspiration to so many who knew him and the joyous times I remember at the family reunions' Joseph has left such a great legacy behind to continue to build upon. And so many precious memories to reflect on. God will Comfort our hearts as we Celebrate Joe's Life. Will be greatly missed but to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord
