Joseph Stillitano Obituary

STILLITANO Joseph W. Stillitano, age 89, of Stratford died peacefully at home May 10, 2011 with his loving wife Elsa Falls Stillitano and Blue his dog by his side. Together they had a wonderful 11 years of love, care, and travel. His first wife Helen Breen Stillitano who passed on 15 years ago predeceases him. He was born in Katonah, NY June 3, 1921 son of the late Fortunato and Virginia Pecora Stillitano. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed for over 40 years with the former Bridgeport Brass, in Bridgeport. After his retirement he became a starter at the Par Three Golf Course in Fairfield until he was 88. He was an avid golfer and fisherman in CT, FL, and ME. He is the loving father of James Lambert, and his wife Elke, Peg Bepko Sheehy, and her husband Joe, and Sandra Galletti; He is the brother of Betty Matheson. He is the cherished grandfather of Carl Galletti, and his wife Susan, Frank Galletti, and his wife Maribeth, Jennifer Galletti, T. J Bepko, and Patrick Lambert. the uncle of Brandon and Tamara Matheson. Elsa's children were also a big part of Joe's life for the last 11 years. Carolyn Falls, William Falls, Stephen Falls, and his wife Rose, and Thomas Falls and his wife Maureen, and also leaves Elsa's grandchildren Holly and Josh Lincoln. Friends may greet his family on Saturday from 10a.m. to 12p.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton At the request of his family memorial contributions may be made to DAV P.O.
