Joseph G. Thompson, Jr.
Joseph G. Thompson, Jr., age 78, beloved husband of Marie Justo Thompson, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bridgeport on March 20, 1946, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Pinder) Thompson, Sr. and was a longtime resident of Shelton.
Joe had an avid love for his grandchildren; his precious garden, who he shared with all neighbors. He loved to have cookouts and family Sunday dinners. He was a die-hard rock 'n roll fan and had a special love for Brooklyn and Coney Island. He was an avid world traveler, if not, he was dancing on the dance floor when he wasn't teasing someone or the wanna-be news channel videographer.
In addition to his beloved wife, Marie, of 47 years, survivors include his two loving children, Shawn Thompson and his wife Nicole and Ashley Thompson and her husband Ryan Riggs, all of Shelton, a sister, Dorothy Jaynes of Stratford, a brother, William Thompson and his wife Shirley of FL, and four cherished grandchildren, Brayden Thompson, Emily Riggs, Rylen Thompson and Tyler Riggs, as well as many nieces and nephews.
All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton, Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Huntington Lawn Cemetery South. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday, June 18th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
