Juan Febles Obituary
Juan F. Febles, aged 66, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband to Carmen R. Febles-Rodriguez for 41 years. Juan is survived by his daughters Carmen E. Febles and Judy Febles, along with her partner, Julia Relova. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Abel Perez, Emily Rodriguez and her partner Alex Castro, their son Santiago Castro Rodriguez, as well as Caitlyn and her husband June Philogene.
Juan was predeceased by his parents, Ignacio and Elvira Fortunata Febles, and his two sisters, Maria and Elvira Febles. He is survived by his brothers, Ignacio Febles and his wife Midelza, and Michael Febles and wife Daiana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Born in Havana, Cuba, on November 3, 1956. At the age of twelve, Juan emigrated from Cuba to the United States, where he dedicated himself to hard work, always striving for the best for himself and his family. He retired after 29 years of service as a bus operator at GBTA. Juan was a versatile and active person, often described as a jack of all trades, and he had a keen interest in history. He will leave behind his German shepherd, Rommel, who he deeply loved.
Juan's wife Carmen loved him unconditionally and remained by his side until his last breath. While Juan may no longer be with us physically, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. The wake is scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St., Bridgeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 3rd, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Bridgeport, followed by interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. I am very sorry to hear of Juan's passing. I met Juan in 1992, when I started working at Greater Bridgeport Transit. He was a good man, who was always ready with a joke and always ready to lend a helping hand. The world has lost one of the good guys. My deepest condolences to his family.
