Lisa Brogan Obituary

Brogan, Lisa Anne
Lisa Anne Brogan, age 53, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent's Hospital on November 7th after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsfield, MA on the fourth of July, she was always fiercely independent…a true firecracker. Her warm personality, hearty laugh and positive outlook belied the many challenges she faced during her shortened lifetime. Never having children of her own, she was earth mother to both family and friends. It was typical of her many nieces and nephews to eagerly seek her out for her wisdom and guidance. An avid lover of animals, she adopted two cats, Bijou and Kai, who gave her many years of joy and companionship. Two of Lisa's favorite places were the Keys and the Cape. Lisa loved the challenge of a good debate, be it politics, religion, astrology or just about any topic one engaged her in. She was witty and fun-loving and one could usually find her the center of attention at any gathering. She was a long time resident of Stratford and graduated from Bunnell High School in 1978 and studied at Fairfield University for several years. She is survived by her sister, Linda Sutyak and brothers Michael (wife, Linda) and Christopher Brogan. She also leaves nieces, Katia Noll (husband, Eric), Keira Holbrough (husband, Cory) and Melissa Watts-Crowell and nephews, John McKenna (wife, Danielle) and Conor McKenna (wife, Sarah) as well as 13 great nieces and nephews all of whom she adored. She is additionally survived by 20 first cousins with whom she also shared a close bond. She is predeceased by her beloved parents (Gaynor and Ghislaine Brogan) and her sister Gail and brother-in-law Jack McKenna. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at St. James RC Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford, CT on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford Cat Project or an animal charity of your choice.

I shared some wonderful memories with Lisa - camping in the rain, a trip to Cape Cod and seeing Cheech & Chong at the Shakespeare theater. So very sad to hear of her passing. Godspeed Lisa.
