Nitza Latorre Obituary
"Beloved wife & mother." Mrs. Nitza I. (Vargas) Latorre, 43, of Trumbull, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Jose L. Latorre and mother of Isabella and Natalia Latorre.
Nitza was born in Waterbury, on December 10, 1973, daughter of Rafael and Irma (Rodriguez) Vargas, Sr. She was a graduate of Kennedy High School Class of 1991. She attended the University of Connecticut earning her BS degree. She worked as a registered nurse for both Hartford Hospital and Optimus Health Care in Bridgeport until her illness. Through her 7 year battle, she demonstrated unwavering courage, insurmountable love for her family and unrelenting commitment to her daughters' upbringing. She enjoyed spending time with family, attending to her two beautiful daughters, dancing, and scrapbooking in her spare time.
Besides her husband, Jose, of 15 years, and her parents, Rafael and Irma, Nitza leaves two daughters: Isabella and Natalia Latorre of Trumbull; one sister: Marilynn Gibson and her husband, Darrel, of Waterbury, one brother: Rafael Vargas, Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Southington; also her loving faithful dog, Biscuit, 15 nieces and nephews as well as dozens of loving family and friends.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Saint Margaret of Scotland Church, 289 Willow Street, Waterbury. Burial will follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd, Waterbury, CT. Everyone is asked to meet DIRECTLY at the Church at 10:30 a.m. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury has been entrusted with the services.
Donations: In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the children's education funds. Please make checks payable to Isabella and Natalia Latorre, for deposit only, and send to Newtown Savings Bank, 39 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470; 203-426-4440.
