Walter LaTorre

Walter "Walt" LaTorre, age 62, passed away on November 20, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was the cherished husband of Penny for 12 years, and a proud father to Megan (fiancé Anthony Todek), and Vincent LaTorre. He was also a caring stepfather to David (Francis) Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez, and Veronica (fiancé Brendan Solomon) Gonzalez.

Born with a gift for making people laugh, Walt carried a magnetic sense of humor that drew others to him throughout his life. He was the beloved brother of Anna LaTorre Rose, Joseph (Laura) LaTorre, Susan (Craig) Sandula, and James LaTorre, and is fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. His faithful companions, Gia and Max, were always by his side and brought him immense joy.

Walt was humble, loyal, and deeply committed to his Catholic faith. A dedicated member of the ABC Warehouse team for 38 years, he was known for his relentless work ethic and ability to make friends anywhere he went. His love for music shaped much of his life-he was a talented drummer and a self-taught guitarist who filled many gatherings with rhythm and melody. He had a storyteller's heart, delivering tales with vivid detail, and he especially enjoyed settling in with a classic spaghetti western.

Visitation for Walt will be held on Monday, November 24, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 Fifteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. He will lie in state on Tuesday, November 25, at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at San Francesco Catholic Church, 22870 S. Nunneley Road in Clinton Township.
