Paul Goldspink Obituary

Goldspink, Paul E.
Paul E. "Goldy" Goldspink, age 62 of Shelton entered into rest on Wednesday March 5, 2014.
He is the devoted husband of 29 years to Rose Marie (Angelico) Goldspink.
Goldy was born in Derby on May 19, 1951 son of the late James F. and Florence (Tucker) Goldspink and was a lifelong Shelton resident. Goldy was employed with the City of Shelton for many years in the department of Highways and Bridges. He was also a former employee of the JJ Brennan Construction Company, and owned and operated Goldspink Excavating. Goldy loved NASCAR, he was an honorary member of The Pine Rock Fire Company # 4, and was awarded for his outstanding service with the Emergency Responders during recent storms by the Huntington Fire Co # 2.
He is the beloved father of Teri Goldspink Walsh, and her husband Douglas, Christopher Goldspink, and Dawn Marie Barnes. He is the brother of Linda Goldspink Casso, and her husband Joseph, and the late Charles "Bones" Goldspink. Paul also leaves 13 cherished grandchildren, 7 loving great grandchildren , and several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat Candy Cane, and all of the feral cats that he fed daily at the City Yard.
Friends may greet his family on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Monday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 AM for a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church 188 Rocky Rest Rd. Shelton. Burial will take place in the spring at the convenience of his family in Lawn Cemetery.

Words cannot describe how saddened I am. I will always remember Goldy's warm smile. In the 42 years I have known him, I don't think I can recall one moment that I saw him mad. Heaven gained a happy smiling angel. Rest peacefully, Goldy.
