I still cannot get over the shock of the loss of such a brilliant, compassionate and good man. He was not just a colleague, but had become a friend to me. He was a mentor to me and a role model when I became a new attorney and we worked a lot together over the past few years. I could only aspire to be an attorney like him. I was very saddened to hear of his passing and was not able to be at his memorial, due to illness. I give my deepest sympathy to his wife, Diane and his two children for such a deep loss. The world had become a better place, especially for children, due to Peter. I will miss him so very much.

Attorney Vannucci has been a great source of comfort to my family over many years. He was truly a kind and caring person. He was genuine, reliable, and committed to the children he represented including my son. He advocated for my family at many meetings. He anticipated potential problems and acted quickly to resolve the issues before they caused difficulties in our lives. I was grateful to know that you were always in my corner if I needed you which I did on many occasions. Thank you for being a blessing in my life. I am sorry for the loss that his family has experienced. May it be a comfort to know how many lives your husband, your father, and your friend has touched.

I had the pleasure of working with Peter with one of our families that he represented. Peter was a great source of comfort to this family; he was also assisting the mother with filing for divorce. Peter gave this mother a very discounted fee almost charging her nothing. Peter told her she could pay him whenever she had the money. I will always treasure his generosity in assisting others with his counseling. We at IICaps will dearly miss Peter; I for one will treasure our meetings in assisting him with translating for these clients he assisted.

Our deepest condolences to the family.

Dear Vannucci family-

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Peter and I worked together for the past 14 years as he represented children and families in need of an advocate. He always had a moment to give to others, and his care was sincere. The thing I admired most in him was his ability to recognize the joys in life- his wife and children being the most precious.

May you find comfort in knowing that the thoughts and prayers of so many touched lives are with you.

To the Vanucci Family,
One day we hosted Peter and the scouts of Troop 42 at our house to view It's a Wonderful Life as part of a Boy Scout requirement. The patience and care with which Peter mentored the boys was something we will never forget.
It could have been just another movie, but Peter would pause after each significant point in the film to ask each of the boys their views on what they saw. This movie was about choices in life that people would have to make and he wanted the boys to think about life. He was teaching, coaching and befriending.
The kindness and caring of this man, this leader of young boys was touching.
These boys will go on to great things in life, in part thanks to Peter Vanucci. It is on Peter's shoulders they stand to hopefully reach higher and see farther.
Peter, you chose to use your time on this Earth to help others. Thank you for that and may God Bless you. May your family be safe and strong.

I can’t get past the shock of the loss of this wonderful man. He was involved in so much of my work that I see his name several times a day, and every time I do, I still can’t believe that I’m not going to walk into the lobby and see his face. I so miss swapping Boy Scout stories with my friend. Peter was such an honorable guy, and a hero to many, many children. He left this world a better place through his compassion. He was truly loved and appreciated professionally because we knew that he was a fair and trustworthy attorney that would do the right thing for each and every child and family he served. He always knew his cases like the back of his hand, and although he was always respectful and well-spoken he never hesitated to speak up for what he believed in. Peter’s passing is such a tremendous loss to the Greater Danbury community. We have lost a colleague and a good friend. God bless him and his beautiful family.

Dear Diane and family: Peter and I met and became friends at Jones Damia Kaufman. He always had something nice to say to everyone. I can still remember when he called me to say you were pregnant with twins and how ecstatic he was! Whenever we had a case in common over the past several years and spoke, he would always make it a point to brag about his son and daughter and how proud you both were of them. He was a good person and devoted family man. I am sure you have so many memories to cherish. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Diane, Andrew and Laura,

We are so sorry that we cannot be there to provide support and comfort in this time of incredible grief. What wonderful memories we have of Peter! We so enjoyed it when he stopped by our home to chat . He always included a story or two about the kitties. We remember the hours and hours he unselfishly donated to New Fairfield/Sherman Animal; from helping set up and take down the Boutique to offering legal guidance in the wording of the Shelter's documents. Peter was an extraordinary man who truly made a difference in the lives of so many people and homeless animals. He will be sadly missed.

Dear Diane, Andrew and Laura,
We were so sorry to hear of Peter's passing. Peter was such a wonderful, giving man. He was always volunteering and helping out with a smile and a kind word for everyone. Thru scouts, band and other school functions we have gotten to know and respect Peter. We were always amazed how he could always bring a gym full of noisy excited cub scouts to silence by just putting up two fingers and saying the phrase we will always remember "Signs up boys". Losing him is a great loss to our community and to all those who had the pleasure to know him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Sue, Fred, Andy and Alexis.

Dear Family,
I am deeply saddened and shocked by your sudden loss. I've gotten to know Peter over the years through work and he was by far one of the most decent, compassionate, and sincere gentleman that I have been fortunate enough to get to know. He always gave 100% of himself to helping others and advocating for his clients. What was most impressive is that as busy and involved as he was with work, he always mangaged to take the time to chat and ask about how you were doing. He truly cared about others and was one of the most dedicated people to his profession. I will miss him from a personal and professional level. He will be greatly missed by many.
