Pietro Recine Obituary

RECINE Pietro Recine, age 81, beloved husband of Elena Venditti Recine of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Ripi, Italy, on March 17, 1922, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Lucia Mastrageli Recine. Mr. Recine came to the United States as a teenager. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Bassick Co. of Bridgeport after 41 years. Mr. Recine was an avid gardener and loved flowers. He often entertained his family and friends with his many stories. In addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, Mr. Recine leaves behind sons, Vincent Recine and his wife, Melanie, of Monroe, Robert Recine of New York, and John Recine and his wife, Ann Rita, of Clinton; sister, Elena Sollicito and her husband, Mike, of New York; and grandchildren, Warren, Peter and Victoria Holland-Recine, and Angela and Isabella Recine; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Recine; and sister, Gina Visalli. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 8, 2003, at 10:15 a.m. from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Margaret's Shrine at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be in the Garden Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Swim Across the Sound, c/o St. Vincent's Foundation Office, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606. Elena, Vinny, Bobby, Johnny and families,
