Raymond Morrell Obituary

Raymond C. Morrell Jr.
Raymond C. Morrell Jr., age 64, of Stratford, beloved husband of Cathy (Parelli) Morrell, passed away on April 19, 2023, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport after a valiant battle with cancer. Ray was born in Greenwich on May 20, 1958 to the late Raymond and Barbara (Ginise) Morrell Sr., and had been a long time Greenwich resident before moving to Stratford 27 years ago. He was a graduate of Wright Tech High School and was a retired mechanic. In addition to his beloved wife of 34 years, he is survived by his devoted daughters, Lindsay Staley and her husband Daryl, and McKenzie Morrell, cherished grandchildren, Mia and Letti, all of Stratford, sister, Sandy Nelson and her husband Ed of Greenwich, and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was a determined, hardworking, and charismatic person who took on several passions throughout his lifetime. Always known for working with his hands and having the ability to fix just about anything you threw at him. His favorite places were speeding down the quarter-mile at the racetrack in his 1969 Chevrolet Nova, in his garage tinkering with his collection of tools, and any place his wife, Cathy, was. He found comfort and peace in providing for his family, fulfilling the many projects around the house dreamt up by his dedicated wife, and spending quality time with his loved ones. Raymond was such a kind-hearted and charming soul. He cared so deeply for the people around him, especially his family and friends. He was headstrong, sincere, and passionate, and his absence will be missed deeply. Friends and family may visit on Monday, April 24th from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a donation in memory of Ray to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Cathy, Lindsay, McKenzie, entire Morrell Family & Friends, So Saddened to read of Ray's passing today, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Ray was such a great guy and had numerous talents. He had a great sense of humor and a huge heart always bringing out the best in everyone. He was so proud of his Family, they meant the World to him. I spent many hours in his Family's Cos Cob garage as he could always solve mechanical problems with my '55 Belair Hot Rod. We spent many adventurous nites cruising or a car shows with my '55, all fond memories with Ray. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again. May God continue to bless the Morrell Families. With heartfelt sympathy, Pat Clarke
