Richard P. DeSalvo, 64, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Faxton-St. Luke's Health Care. He was born on January 20, 1948, in Rome, NY, a son of the late Stephen and Josephine (Buttacavoli) DeSalvo. Richard was employed for many years with Pettibone in Rome and most recently with the National Bank of Vernon until his retirement. Richard enjoyed NASCAR racing, gardening and collecting fine wines from all over the world. He also enjoyed collecting Model Trains and ceramic villages. He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Dortha (Colleen) DeSalvo, of Utica; a daughter, Kelly Egresits, of Marcy; three sons, Richard DeSalvo and Mark DeSalvo, of Rome, and Ricky DeSalvo, of Utica; and stepchildren, Lauraine Golik, of Palm Beach, FL, Timothy Stolo, of Utica, Tamara Stolo, of Utica, and Tera Plummer and her husband, Tom, of Boynton Beach, FL. He also leaves his grandchildren, Nevaeh DeSalvo, John Egresits, Rebekah Stolo and Richard DeSalvo. He also leaves a brother, Steve DeSalvo and his wife, Karen, of Utica, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
