Richard Watson
Richard "Dick" L. Watson, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Bridgeport hospital with his loving family by his side.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Vi, with whom he spent a devoted 60 years in May, his two caring children, Denise Mollica and her partner Paul Keene, Tom "T.R." and his wife Kim Watson, four cherished grandchildren, Daniel Mollica and his partner Gavi, Ryan Watson, Alexa Mollica, Kevin Watson, adoring great-granddaughter Ava Mollica, brother-in-law Jim Rubis and his wife Gloria, as well as many nieces and nephews, Michael Rubis and his wife Sandy, Chris Rubis and his wife Elise, Michelle Francisco and her husband Jeff and their children. Dick was predeceased by his parents W. Thomas Watson Sr. and Margaret Boettger, his brother W. Thomas Watson Jr., and his wife Dolores Gorton Watson.
Dick was born in Bridgeport on May 31, 1935 where he was also raised before becoming a lifelong resident of Trumbull, CT. He honorably served his country in the National Guard. Dick and his brother established the company Tom-Wat Inc. which was a successful fund-raising company. He was the vice-president and co-owner of the family-owned business before he sold it and retired.
Words by family members that describe him were "caring, witty, knowledgeable, love of German-Shepherds and a million-dollar smile."
