Ronald Treschitta

TRESCHITTA Ronald Treschitta, age 42, of Maryland, lost his courageous seven-year battle with cancer on Sunday morning May 2, 2004. Ronald was born and raised in Norwalk, son of John and Rita Treschitta of Norwalk. He graduated Central Catholic High School in 1979. Ronald attended and graduated Pace University in 1983 and the American University in 1985. After living in Connecticut, Ronald resided in Washington, D.C. where he worked as a senior credit risk manager for Fannie Mae. Just prior to his death, Ronald resided in Edgewater, Md., Ronald's recent involvement in the community included his membership with the Fieri Italian Club of Washington, D. C., volunteering with the Literacy Volunteers of America, Special Olympics and various fund-raisers for cancer research. Ronald was an avid gardener, he loved fishing and cycling. In addition to his parents Ronald is survived by his loving family consisting of five brothers and one sister and their families, John, Mary, Jodie and Amber Treschitta of Fairfield, Domenick, Lindsey, Pamela, Valerie and Andrew Treschitta of Warwick, N.Y., Kenneth, Linda, Kenneth, Mary Grace, Michael and Caroline Treschitta of Ridgefield, Louis, Nora, Steven, Megan, Timothy and J.P. Treschitta of Monroe, Nicholas, Samantha and Madeline Treschitta of Kennesaw, Ga., and Melissa and Shawn Sullivan of Fairfield. Ronald is also survived by his extended family and friends in Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk.
