Sophie Mary Bansak Papp

PAPP Sophie Mary Bansak Papp, age 96 of Fairfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 22, 2007 with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 8, 1911, one of nine children of the late Alexander and Alexandra Bansak. Sophie lived in Fairfield for most of her life and most recently was a resident at Maefair Health Care Center in Trumbull. Sophie was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, John Papp and her seven brothers and one sister. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Sophie was well-known in her neighborhood because of her love for walking and she was a regular worshipper at St. Emery's Church. She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Jean Kielbus and her husband, Joseph of Fairfield, Marion D. Mirsky of Bridgeport and Carol Egri and her husband, George of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Christopher Kielbus and his wife, Mary of Naugatuck, Shelley J. Mirsky of Bridgeport, Cheryl Miolene and her husband, John of Trumbull and Victoria and Karen Egri, both of Trumbull; four great-grandchildren, John, Kristen and Lauren Miolene and Lorie Bond. She is also survived by one brother, Raymond Bansak and his wife, Jeannette of Fairfield; many nieces and nephews and two caring neighbors, George Pekar and George Hyatt of Fairfield. Sophie's family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and staff at Maefair for their loving, compassionate care and the support they provided to the family over the past two and a half years. Funeral services will be held on Monday 10:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center, and 11 a.m. in St. Emery's Church.
