Dear Marian & Shelley & family: I was very sorry to read about the passing of your dear mom/grandmother. I remember her – she was a very sweet and energetic woman and I’m sure you will miss her very much. It’s tough to lose a mother – my mom died 6 years ago and there is not one day that goes by that I don’t think of her. Keep you mom in your daily memories and it will get you through this difficult time. Marian, please call me – it would be nice to reconnect with you.
Sincerely, Dolores Crooks 268-8152

I was very sorry to hear of Mrs. Papp's passing. I live on Finn Street in Fairfield down the street from where your mother lived. She use to cut through our street to go to church or to get up Black Rock Turnpike. One Saturday morning sixteen years ago she cut through and rescued me my and two babies Thomas who was 3 and Allison was a baby. I was in my car in the driveway which is on a hill, after putting the children in their car seats I went to start the car, the car would not start and when I released the clutch the car started to roll, the brake would not stop it. I had to keep the clutch in or we would have rolled down the hill. I was in the car for over an hour before your mother came walking down the street. I called to her she came over I gave her the key to my house and told her to go in and call 911 this was before everyone carried cell phones. She called then came outside and we talked until the fire department, police department everyone came. She saved our lives. After that everytime she walked down the street she would say remember when I saved your lives. Every time we drove by her house my children would say thats where the lady lives that saved our lives. They are now 16 and 18 years old and they still say it. I told them she had passed away as it has been a number of years since we have seen her. We all felt bad but knew she had lived a long happy life. Thank you. God Bless all of you.
