Stanislawa Kovach Obituary
Stanislawa Kovach, age 89, of Stratford died on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at St Vincent Medical Center. She was the widow of Wasyl Kovach.
She was born in Ukraine, and then relocated to France where she and Wasyl began to raise their family. Eventually they immigrated to the United States where she made her home for most of her life. She retired from Country Home Bakers. Mrs. Kovach was very devoted to her church and Ukrainian organizations. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and treated everyone she met with kindness.
She is survived by three loving children, Myron Kovach, Nadia and her husband, Vincent and Oliver Kovach; two grandchildren, Nicole Glorioso and Daniel Glorioso; one great-grandson, Carmine. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Andrea Fourcry.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 6 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main St., Stratford. Panikhyda at 5 pm. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday at 10:00 am directly at Holy Protection BVM Ukraine Catholic Church, 457 Barnum Ave., Bridgeport. Interment at St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Those who so desire, may make contributions in her memory to Holy Protection BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church, 255 Barnum Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. We were saddened to learn about Mrs. Kovach! She was a terrific person, a hard worker, a woman who was always friendly and helpful. I remember she was one of the "old timers" at the Church, and I always enjoyed working with her. Mrs. Kovach loved her family and friends and dedicated her life to serve others. She also made THE BEST German potato salad! She walks with God, and we know her soul is in Heaven! With our sincere sympathy, Paul & Diane Lytwyn
